Learning Objectives Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to: 1.Describe the prevalence of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) and list 3 known risk factors. 2.Identify the most significant factors associated with survival of cardiac arrest that occur secondary to ventricular fibrillation (VF) or ventricular tachycardia (VT). 3.Discuss what is currently known about the effectiveness of early intervention when portable defibrillation devices have been used for victims of SCA.
