STANDARD PRECAUTIONS

Course overview

The Standard Precautions will discuss with the student necessary steps for a healthcare provider to take while interacting with a patient. The course will discuss use of universal precautions, gloves, goggles, masks, sterile techniques and transmission of potentially infectious diseases. The student will be able to name several potential bloodborne and droplet infectious diseases, their routes of transmission, and ways to ensure the provider is not exposed to potential infections.
