Course overview

This 3-hour course emphasizes key considerations applicable to home care professionals in effectively managing patients with chronic heart failure with a focus on a strategies to reduce hospitalizations. Time will be spent looking at the physiologic process for patients with heart failure and the understanding of specific treatment for each case. The course will attempt to disseminate unstable from stable-unstable labels and emphasize the response-dependent approach to managing these patients. Evaluation strategies, organized clinical decision making, and effective treatment techniques will be emphasized. Clinicians are challenged to integrate and synthesize physiological and clinical principles in decision making through the use of various clinical case studies.
