Course overview

Brokers will gain an overview of their specific duties and accountability with the WV Real Estate License Act and Legislative Rules. Brokers will discuss the top complaints filed against Brokers. How the Commission processes and resolves those complaints. Brokers will identify and examine their duties to both supervise and train their licensees to comply with WV License Law in the following areas; advertising, unauthorized practice of law, misrepresentation, fraud, agency, disclosure of material facts and earnest money and trust fund accts. Will examine the three types of agency representation and disclosure duties, i.e. written, timely and meaningful. Brokers will examine case studies of License Law violations. Brokers will identify their duty to insure that their agents properly satisfy their annual cont. education and license renewal. Brokers will examine the requirements for a licensee transferring to another employing Broker. Brokers will examine specific violations of the License Act as described in 30-40-19 and how to avoid those violations. Brokers will discuss how the WV License Act and Legislative Rules eliminate practices that damage the public and promotes professionalism and ethics in their practice.
