Course overview

The foundation for working with pediatric patients is understanding typical developmental milestones. What activities should a child be able to do, when should they be able to do them, and how as a rehabilitation therapist should you assess these skills and abilities? In this course, rehabilitation professionals who are new to working in pediatrics will review the normal developmental milestones from 2 months to 5 years of age. Standardized and validated screening tools and assessment techniques are discussed. Additionally, best practices for determining if a milestone that is not met warrants further assessment are presented.
