Hemodynamics in the Clinical Setting

Course overview

In the past, nurses and providers in critical-care units were responsible for assessing and addressing "preload" and "afterload" issues associated with cardiovascular problems due to the complexity of these diseases. However, now, nurses and providers working in step-down, medical/surgical, and even home healthcare settings need to have a basic understanding of hemodynamic concepts to guide their day-to-day practice. This course aims to explain cardiac output, preload, afterload, and the various therapies used to treat patients with these cardiac conditions.
