It is not uncommon for clinicians to encounter clients who are experiencing shame in various aspects of their life. Shame, guilt, and self-criticism play a critical role in quality of life and mental health. Fear can lead to unhealthy coping strategies and emotional distress. This training will explore elements of shame common in mental health that may disrupt healthy functioning. Strengthen your skills and clinical knowledge in facilitating therapeutic interventions with clients to end the powerful hold of shame, guilt and self-criticism. A resilience-growth model will be presented to help your clients develop acceptance of themselves, others, and the reality necessary for the effective treatment of trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, binge eating, substance use, and anger issues.
