Approximately 20% of students ages 12-18 are impacted by bullying nationwide. Unfortunately, the solution is not simple. Talking about bullying is a powerful first step in understanding the complexity of this issue. Understanding Bullying is a course designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of bullying, its impact on individuals, and effective strategies for prevention and intervention. The course will explore the various forms of bullying, including physical, verbal, social, and cyberbullying, and examine the underlying causes and dynamics of bullying behavior. Participants will learn how to recognize the signs of bullying, understand the psychological and emotional effects on victims, bystanders, and perpetrators, and develop strategies for creating a safe and inclusive environment in their personal and professional lives.
