Course overview

Psychological First Aid - 2nd Edition is an evidence based approach to help children, adolescents, adults, and families in the immediate aftermath of disaster and terrorism, and it is designed to reduce the initial distress caused by traumatic events and to foster short- and long-term adaptive functioning and coping. This course was developed using information from the National Child Traumatic Stress Network and the National Center for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and the strategies are intended for use by providers who come in contact with those who have been exposed to disaster or terrorism.
