In addition to a commitment to competent and quality clinical care, healthcare facilities must prioritize respectful and empathic care experiences for all patients, all the time. This is a mindset of intentionality for all staff to ensure that patient diversity is recognized, inclusion is prioritized and equity in healthcare is accomplished. Suggested Audience: All healthcare professionals Upon completion of this lesson, you should be able to: Describe key areas of emphasis for empathetic care. Recognize key elements of a positive patient experience. Identify common patient approaches to avoid that create negative interactions. Recognize the impact that an empathetic culture has on patient satisfaction.
