An Introduction to Home Health for RTs

Course overview
This course is designed to provide an introduction to respiratory therapists (RTs) who are new to the home health setting. RTs will learn what to expect, including the common clinical presentations they will encounter, tasks to be accomplished, important factors to assess, ways to collaborate with other disciplines, and treatment modifications to the plan of care. It also provides tips for improving patient and caregiver engagement and outcomes. It does not cover how to work with patients requiring home mechanical ventilation. This course aims to provide respiratory therapists with a better understanding of their role within the home health setting.
