Borderline Personality Disorder (2 CE) Contributors: Marsha Linehan, Ph.D., Alex Chapman, Ph.D., Clive J. Robins, Ph.D., and Keith Hawkins, Ph.D. The empirically-validated treatment series focuses on psychosocial interventions for various mental health conditions which are supported by research evidence. Borderline personality disorder is the most common of the personality disorders. Dialectical Behavior Therapy is the only empirically supported treatment for borderline personality disorder, and is reviewed in this course. Learning Objectives: 1. Review a description of borderline personality disorder, including a definition of the disorder, onset, and prevalence rates. 2. Compare Dialectical Behavior Therapy to various treatment alternatives. 3. Review a description of the important steps and techniques for Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
