Course overview

Co-occurring mental health conditions in autism are often framed as essentially independent disorders, with each additional diagnosis adding its own clinical assessment and treatment literature, often to detriment when applied to autism presentations. A complementary approach incorporating neuroscience findings in autism will be presented, focusing on overarching themes of brain differences in autism, and then applying this information clinically to common psychiatric presentations. No prior understanding of the brain is required.
