Course overview

The muscles of the hip and knee play an important role in the mobility and stability of the lower limb. Strengthening these muscles is vital for control of body posture. Adequate strength is also necessary to oppose forces at the hip and knee that can contribute to lower limb injuries. Rehabilitation and injury prevention programmes often focus on strengthening the muscles around the hip and knee. This course discusses strategies to progressively overload specific muscles around the hip and knee using evidence-based techniques. By consistently challenging the hip and knee muscles rehabilitation professionals can optimise treatment effectiveness and patient outcomes. This course aims to demonstrate how to effectively strengthen the muscles around the hip and knee joints through progressive overload techniques. It also shows how to regress or progress exercise load by clever exercise selection.
