Course overview

Our feet are our connection to the earth and for many of us serve as our primary mode of mobility. Rehabilitation professionals have a unique understanding of the gait cycle and are familiar with the important role of heel strike during ambulation. Heel pain is one of the most common and debilitating barriers to daily activities. Small gait deviations to avoid heel pain during ambulation can result in pain and dysfunction up the kinetic chain. This relatively small part of our anatomy is a keystone to pain-free mobility! While there can be dozens of causes and diagnoses for heel pain the therapeutic question remains: should all heel pain be treated the same? Join Damien Howell and Helene Simpson for a lively exchange on their different approaches to managing plantar heel pain syndromes. In this webinar they provide in-depth information to help you develop personalised treatment approaches based on specific movement and functional training for plantar heel pain. The exercises recommended during this webinar can be effective in the short and long term supporting faster and more durable results for patients. This webinar aims to openly discuss different exercise prescription strategies for plantar heel pain syndromes. It aims to enhance and sharpen your well-established toolkit with evidence-based and patient-centred care plans.
