Palliative Care and End-of-Life Care

Course overview

While medicine strives to cure people of their ills. a;; things cannot be cured. When we cannot rid the patient of the illness, disease or disorder, we try to make them m ore comfortable and improve the quality of their remaining days. Palliative care which is treatment that decreases pain or improves quality of life when cure is not realistic, and end of life care where death with dignity if the mantra, are goals that all nurses should be aware of and strive to advocate for all their patients.
