Course overview

Across the nation, drug overdose deaths have increased greatly in recent years. Non-medical prescription opioids and other illicit drugs pose dangerous consequences for those engaging in substance misuse. Given the link of onset of substance misuse and the presence of mental health conditions, health and human service professionals have an integral role in mitigating use and supporting those engaging in substance misuse. This webinar will provide a look at non-medical opioid misuse in the United States by providing an introductory overview of prevalence, trends, and clinical implications for providers. This is an introductory course and provides factual information based off of the presenter's national research and co-authored publications.
