Remote Wheelchair Skills Training

Course overview

This is an online continuing education course which provides clinicians an opportunity to learn effective teaching methods for 15 intermediate and advanced wheelchair skills (see below). Clinicians will review a suite of training videos of a diverse group of wheelchair users performing these 15 skills. For each skill there is video of a trainer paired with a wheelchair user and a spotter. In addition to demonstrating the skill, videos include general training tips, how to progress training, spotter considerations, adjustment tips, variations in training, and special considerations. Participants will practice these skills with assistance from a spotter.
