Tissue Miccroarray 101: The Basics

Course overview

With the rapid interest and need for new biomarkers, the addition of spatialomiocs, the increasing cost of complex testing,budget cuts, workforce shortages, the need to maintain quality and efficiency, the tissue micro array (TMA) may offer a solution. This workshop will concentrate on several key aspects for a well designed TMA. We will cover how the purpose of the TMA will drive the design, tissue selection, annotation and final placement map design, tips for sectioning, staining and applications it may be used for. Participants will get a chance to construct a simple TMA using a preformed micro array mold.
