Vital Myocarditis: Histopathology and Molecular Mechanisms

Course overview

Inflammatory myocarditis with the hallmarks of cellular infiltration into the myocardium and deteriorating cardiac function has numerous causes. Despite extensive research, inflammatory myocarditis resulting in left ventricular failure and arrhythmia, still has a poor prognosis. In this session, we will review the viral causes of inflammatory myocarditis, cardiac histology and histopathology, and correlate selected molecular mechanisms associated with this pathology.
