Course overview

Participants will be able to describe sleep needs and average sleep obtainment by age in the United States, will be able to describe the negative impacts of insufficient and disordered sleep, will be able to name the four stages of sleep and the importance of deep sleep and REM sleep and biological and cognitive functioning, will be able to describe common barriers to healthy sleep, and will be able to describe tools for supporting healthy sleep and the role of the social service professional in educating clients and communities.
