Course overview
Anxiety is a state that exists on a continuum ranging from a helpful response to stress to a paralyzing state of fear. It can manifest as a chronic feeling of tension or an overwhelming and disabling panic that causes physical symptoms mimicking a life-threatening medical emergency. Medical professionals will encounter patients who suffer from anxiety and may even suffer from anxiety themselves. These providers must know how to identify and treat the most common types of anxiety disorders.
