Course overview
This introductory course provides an overview of spinal cord injury (SCI) and typical impairments physical therapy providers should address. Learners will gain an understanding of the recovery process and complexities related to the transition to home, work, and daily life. Interventions to maximize functional independence and prevent and manage secondary complications are presented. The goal of this course is to provide physical therapy professionals with a foundational knowledge of spinal cord injury classifications and interventions to promote function and reduce complications.
