The objective of the study discussed in this article is to assess the prevalence and secular trends of long-term use of stimulants and opioids among adults with ADHD by assessing Medicaid Analytics eXtract data from 29 states between 1999 and 2010. This study provides insight and knowledge to the field given that there is little data currently available about long-term use of stimulants and opioids among adults with ADHD.
