Voices continue to be lifted in the LGBTQ+ community, and more and more of our youth are finding the freedom to live as their authentic selves. As therapists, we play a pivotal role in not only supporting LGBTQ+ youth, but also in helping youth and their families navigate the questions and uncertainty that may come with being who they are. In this session we will explore: Common Play Therapy themes with gender diverse youth, Identify Play Therapy and family interventions to foster communication and growth within the family system Work through case scenarios of Play Therapy interventions to address other mental health considerations to be aware of when working with this population
