Course overview

How can we use antibody panels to help diagnose specific tumor types? Diagnostic algorithms are an important tool the pathologist will use, not only to diagnose specific tumors, but also to exclude certain conditions from the diagnosis. In this workshop, we will look at staining characteristics, unique applications, and the diagnostic advantages of certain antibodies. We will also explore novel diagnostic markers that may be new to the audience. Understanding how these panels are developed and how antibodies are used like pieces of a puzzle is important for understanding the role of immunohistochemistry in the field of pathology. This workshop is designed to familiarize the audience with novel and routine antibodies, as well as how to select and combine these tests to achieve a higher level of information from a single tissue sample.
