Course overview

Histology serves as a prominent research tool within academic circles yet the inner workings of these Core labs remain a topic of curiosity. How exactly do they function as service enters? What type of projects do they typically engage in? How does adherence to CAP standards intersect with research endeavors and data management practices? In this workshop we aim to demystify the operations of the Histology Core labs within academic environments. This includes workflows, volumes, invoicing and guiding principles that contribute to effective Histology Cores. Next, we will closely examine specific projects undertaken by our own lab reflecting on both the challenges faced and the achievements attained. Lastly, we will discuss the importance of meticulous record-keeping as it serves as the foundation for future successes. Additionally, we'll explore how adherence to CAP standards can play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our research setting ensuring that we stay on course towards our scientific goals.
