Course overview

In this hands-on course students will be taught a system of evaluating and treating visceral structures of the thoracic and abdominal cavities. This section also includes specific attention to the temporomandibular joints and motor musculature of the eyes, focusing on their musculoskeletal aspects. Discussing pathological conditions that necessitate treatment in these areas is incorporated with the demonstration and practice of specific treatment techniques used to address them. This course further studies postural distortions, trigger point patterns, and structural asymmetries that can occur in the cranium and viscera and lead to pain and dysfunction. Students will be guided to therapeutic proficiency by thorough instruction in palpation, assessment, and treatment skills.
