Course overview

The cranial nerves represent a special group of nerves in the human nervous system. They have many functions including processing information about our primary or special senses, vision smell taste and hearing. They also conduct information about our bodys position in space manage the muscles of facial expression and eye movement provide input for tear production and more. This course overviews the anatomy of the twelve cranial nerves discusses their function in the motor and sensory (or a mix of the two) nervous pathways and provides a concise summary of cranial nerve testing and assessment. This course aims to overview the anatomy of the twelve cranial nerves and discuss how to perform a cranial nerve bedside assessment.
