Course overview

This course provides descriptions to aid the identification of common fungi, opportunistic fungi, and laboratory contaminants. It will also help mycologists recognize the molds linked to different types of mycoses, how they are transmitted, which fungi cause them, and common treatments. The goal of this course is to provide clinical laboratory professionals in the acute setting with an overview of fungal pathogens, nonpathogens, and opportunists.
