Airway Devices and Management
Tracking # 20-1241262
Course overview
Airway management is a crucial skill for healthcare professionals. Improper maintenance of artificial airways in acute or chronically ill patients can result in retained secretions, blocked airways, and infections. These issues may increase the duration of mechanical ventilation for patients, leading to longer hospitalization and higher hospital costs, as well as poorer patient outcomes. Upon completion of this course, learners will understand the significance of securing airways, keeping airways clear, and monitoring them. Additionally, they will gain a better understanding of the importance of maintaining artificial airways to reduce ventilator-associated events (VAE).
