Course overview
Bariatric surgery has become an accepted treatment for severe obesity and overwight. BS has very beneficial patient outcomes, but is associated with potentially severe adverse effects, many of which are identified by laboatory measurements. This talk will review the benefits and risks of bariatric surgery and identify which laboratory studies are impacted by the surgery.
