Us Dot Substance Abuse Professional Renewal Training: 49 Cfr Part 40

Course overview

The course provides the information that will prepare substance abuse professionals wishing to RENEW their SAP qualification to provide substance abuse evaluations for transportation employees who violate US DOT drug and alcohol prohibitions. The course is intended to provide a review of CFR 49 Part 40 that defines the alcohol and drug testing requirements for safety sensitive employees regulated by the US Department of Transportation. All substance abuse professionals providing services to covered employees under these regulations are required to obtain 12 US DOT SAP specific continuing education credits every three years. SAPs need to clearly understand their role responsibilities and prohibitions of the SAP, their specific SAP responsibilities in the US DOT return to duty process, and understand the significant ethical and philosophical dilemmas related to the SAP duties.
