Course overview

In this 7-hour On-Demand CE course, Timothy Andersen, MAI instructs students to consider USPAP as a guide to competent evaluations. Students will be aware of bias, the various types of bias that can creep into an appraisal, and thus how to avoid those biases. The course will address how USPAP helps appraisers avoid and overcome bias in both appraising and reporting through the 14-points of USPAP. By the end of the CE course, participants will have covered the most common types of bias typically found in a real estate appraisal, defined these biases, seen examples of these biases, and become familiar with ways to avoid them. By the end of the seminar, it should also be clear there is no place for any type of bias in any real estate appraisal or real estate appraisal report period.
