Course overview

Parkinson's disease (PD) is a common neurological disease affecting older adults across a variety of clinical practice settings. Parkinson's disease can be progressive in nature and lead to functional decline including impaired activities of daily living, balance function, gait, and ultimately quality of life and independence. Parkinson's disease can present in various stages and with numerous symptoms and impairments. This course will review how to perform a comprehensive physical therapy evaluation of patients with variable stages of Parkinson's disease. After completion of this course, providers will be able to confidently perform an evaluation and devise a comprehensive physical therapy plan of care for patients with PD.
