Course overview
This three-hour course provides the latest information about HIV following the 2024 International Aids Conference held in July 2024. The course covers the latest information regarding modes of transmission, including transmission between health care workers and patients; epidemiology of the disease; infection control procedures; related infections including tuberculosis; clinical management; prevention; current Florida law and its impact on testing, confidentiality of test results and reporting; and treatment of patients. Also included is information on the offering of HIV testing to pregnant women, and partner notification issues. HB159, regarding certified pharmacists and HIV, is also discussed in this course.
