Course overview

Treatment of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) can be a challenging diagnosis for many health care professionals. The etiology and methods of its development are still not completely understood to the overall healthcare community. It requires a keen understanding of the many different symptoms to establish the most beneficial plan of care. This presentation will review the most current theories and diagnostic criteria for treatment of CRPS. Treatment plans from different healthcare professions will be discussed to highlight the benefits of a multidisciplinary approach. The utilization of rehabilitation services has been shown to be effective in the treatment of CRPS and are essential within the multidisciplinary approach. This presentation will help rehabilitation professionals to understand the most current methods for an effective plan of care.
