Restorative Decompression Therapy Cups

Course overview

This course introduces students to gentle, easy, and effective massage cupping. Students will learn about gliding negative pressure techniques that extend the working life of the therapist. We will integrate practical applications in addition to benefits and conditions that respond well to massage cupping. We will learn about how to apply cups and move the cups around the tissue for maximum comfort to soften and melt restrictive connective tissue. Students will practice application and feedback from the client to ensure clients' comfort. We will then apply techniques including zig-zag and gliding to each area of the body in a one-on-one, hands-on exchange on the table. Each technique will be reinforced through repetition and practice. Contra-indications and endangerment sites will be discussed at length. Each student will receive handouts reiterating the points in the class.
