Course overview

This course is designed to help therapists and mental health professionals recognize, understand, and address bias in therapeutic settings. Participants will learn to identify different types of bias [both explicit and implicit] and understand their impact on client relationships and outcomes. Through self-assessment tools and reflective exercises, attendees will develop greater self-awareness of their biases. The course also covers practical strategies for reducing bias, such as enhancing cultural competence, mindfulness, and perspective-taking. Finally, participants will explore ways to incorporate continuous improvement and resources for ongoing education in bias awareness, ensuring a more inclusive and effective therapeutic practice.
