Course overview

Bystander Intervention Training for Healthcare providers is designed to educate healthcare personnel (HCP) on how to intervene when witnessing sexual harassment in the workplace. Sexual harassment occurs when a person is subject to unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature to such an extent that it alters the conditions of the person's employment and creates an abusive working environment. Bystanders are individuals who witness an incident of harassment but are not a part of it. It is important to be an active bystander and take appropriate steps after witnessing harassment in the workplace. Therefore, it is important to take action against sexual harassment, even if the target of the harassment is not yourself.
