Skin and Wound Care in Rehabilitation Nursing

Course overview

Wound issues, including both surgical wounds and pressure wounds, are frequently encountered in the rehabilitation setting. Many rehabilitation patients are at higher risk for skin breakdown and injury. This course will review the special risks for skin breakdown in rehabilitation, wound healing theory, and risk assessment. Wound care, with a special focus on wound assessment and documentation, will be emphasized.
