Occupational Therapy Executive Function and Teens (Self Paced)

Course overview
This course explores executive function difficulties commonly encountered in teenagers, along with effective strategies for assessment and intervention within the scope of occupational therapy. Executive functions are vital cognitive processes responsible for goal-directed behavior, problem-solving, and self-regulation, all of which are crucial for success in various life occupations. It will also examine the differences for teens versus younger children and adults. Assessment tools and methodologies will be discussed. Evidence-based interventions aimed at enhancing executive function skills in teens will be presented. Participants will have the opportunity to participate in a case study to enhance clinical application and problem-solving approaches to address the multifaceted needs of adolescent clients. Target Audience: Occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, occupational therapy students. This occupational therapy continuing education course uses the following instructional methods: lecture, visual aides (ie slides), discussion board, case study examples.
