Course overview
This Practical explores advanced knowledge and skills in treating athletic low back pain. It covers the intricacies of initial unloading and subsequent reloading from both tissue load and training load perspectives. It also covers the importance of first-line treatments for low back pain, which include patient education and the promotion of continued activity. In addition, it explores second-line interventions, such as the application of superficial heat, specific exercise regimens or cognitive functional therapy, the use of manual therapy as an adjunct to treatment, and the administration of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication. The Practical culminates on strategizing the athlete's return to sport and enhancing their performance post low back pain.
