0202-0000-24-277-L04-P - As the nation continues to grapple with healthcare shortages with no near-term solutions in sight, the U.S. Coast Guard has had to adapt service delivery to ensure member readiness. This is especially acute at small units not directly supported by Coast Guard or DoD facilities and where network providers are in short supply or completely absent. In addition, the Coast Guard medical force has had increasing demands for contingency and surge staffing support. To confront these challenges, the Health, Safety, and Work-Life Service Center established the Readiness and Response Division to meet these readiness requirements.
