EIGHT EXTRAS AND THE CHILDBEARING CYCLE: MODULE 3, THIRD TRIMESTER

Course overview

In this four hour module, we will examine the third trimester of gestations through the lens of the Eight Extraordinary Meridians. This course will provide an overview of the physiological and anatomical processes of late pregnancy, and the transition from pregnancy to labor. We will provide the practitioner will an overview of allopathic care during this period of gestation, and examine the ways in which our modern medical system works both with and against pregnant women as they journey toward birth. We will discuss ways in which the acupuncturist can support women as they confront the many physical, emotional and spiritual challenges of giving birth, and assist them in doing so in the most conscious and empowered possible way. We will discuss protocols for common late pregnancy discomforts, labor preparation and natural labor onset.
