Course overview

End-of-life care for cancer patients is a critical aspect of oncology that requires a compassionate, patient-centered approach to address the multifaceted needs of individuals nearing the end of life. Healthcare professionals should have a solid understanding of end-of-life care's core principles and goals, including the comprehensive management of physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. In this activity, learners will review how to develop and implement collaborative care plans tailored to each patient's unique needs. This activity will also review the roles of various care team members, including physicians and pharmacy team members, in optimizing the quality of end-of-life care. The outcomes of various end-of-life care interventions and opportunities for continuous improvement in practice will also be reviewed.
