There are structural biases and discrimination within society and certain groups are more at risk to be harmed from this. This racialized trauma can show up in communities, individuals, and therapy. Menakem, popular trainer, speaker, and bestselling author of My Grandmother's Hands, will explore how and why white body supremacy organizes itself in therapy. Why diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) colorblind approaches often churn untended to spring loaded energy in therapy.
