0202-0000-24-318-L01-P / 0202-0000-24-318-L01-T - The United States Armed Forces must anticipate challenges and successfully plan for the provision of medical care in a future conflict with near peer adversaries (NPA). Of particular note and concern is that mortality rates in future NPA conflicts will likely be five times greater than in the Global War on Terror. Therefore, medical evacuation planning, prolonged casualty care, and other medical interventions will be needed to anticipate massive polytrauma, significantly higher patient volume, and significantly greater resources required for a single patient. Military Pharmacy must change and adapt its training in response to the threat of an NPA. This session will focus on the application of evidence-based critical care therapies for Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI) to prepare Military pharmacists and technicians for prolonged casualty care.
