Tibial osteotomies like Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO), Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA) and others have significantly advanced our profession's ability to effectively treat a large spectrum of dogs with cranial cruciate ligament disease (CrCLD) even when the athletic performance outcome expectations are lofty. Nonetheless, geographical and /or economic constraints can limit the availability of these procedures for some pets. In this session, Dr. P will describe how you can select patients who are likely to benefit from extracapsular (ExCap) suture stabilization of the stifle and some important pre-, intra-, and post-operative nuances to maximize your chances of success.
