(HS Fisher 150029 2024) Trauma-Informed Culturally Competent Care Ethical Considerations for Treatment
Tracking # 20-1262875
Course overview
A common barrier to effectively meeting the ever-increasing need for trauma-informed care is a lack of awareness of the potential role culture plays in trauma origins, symptoms, and treatment strategies. Unfortunately, lack of consideration of the influence of culture on trauma needs can lead to unintentionally unethical negligent therapeutic efforts. This training will help reduce the likelihood of unethical care by providing cultural considerations for professionals to consider when endeavoring to implement trauma treatment strategies. This positive and encouraging training will provide practical strategies that can help reduce professional fears, strengthen cross-cultural relationships, and increase the likelihood of ethical trauma-informed culturally competent care.
